We all know when we've heard a good story. But few know why. I've spend 3 decades studying story. I can tell you exactly why a story is good. I can tell you when a story is broken. I can also fix the broken ones.

I have written six novels. Each experience built on the last. I feel like maybe number ten will be the one I publish. There are too many poorly written novels in the world today. I want to wait until I can confidently say, "now that's a well written book!"

While writing my first novel, "Rich Friend", I had a lucid dream, right at the keyboard. I'd had an idea how to move a particular scene forward, and in my 'dream' the two characters broke the fourth wall, turned to me and said, "no... that's now how this is going to go." It shocked me. But I've now realized the power of the subconscious."
